about me

In 2001 I graduated as Dipl.-Ing. Maschinenbau (mechanical engineering), specialized in mechatronics at the Technical University of Munich. Subsequently I went to Sydney, Australia to acquire a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Sydney Graduate School of Management.

During my studies I also founded Beacon – Berger Consulting developing websites for companies where I gathered my first digital business experience.

My professional career I then started in the French Saint-Gobain group where, over a period of 13 years, I could build a broad experience in a variety of different positions in different countries and different industries. My experience with Saint-Gobain ended with the setup of the eBusiness division for the German material distribution sector (Saint-Gobain Building Distribution).

In 2016 I moved to another employer and started as Head of Digital Transformation responsible of the global digital transformation initiative for thyssenkrupp Materials Services, where I was able to build up a team of over 30 digital experts, completing over 50 digital projects . Together with one part of my team a group of experienced software engineers we further developed our internal industrial internet of things (IIoT) platform toii, becoming an industrial market ready solution for industrial IoT. This development in 2019 led to the foundation of the first company startup thyssenkrupp Materials IoT GmbH that I was able to lead as its CEO.

Since may 2020 I am now working for Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH where I am leading the two focus areas digitalization and sustainability within the newly founded HOW team.
